TARIK |

Born in Washington, DC. Tarik was fortunate to grow up in the most powerful and historic city of our time. But like many who are raised there, he could not have cared less. One of his many odd jobs was as a bike messenger.
This is where an interest in politics was sparked. His company had contracts with several law firms (Lobbyists) that saturated "K Street" and his delivery would often send him to the halls of the congressional offices. This gave him a front seat view to a world that would significantly shape his perspective.
The more Tarik learned and absorbed this new found interest, the more he found out how corrupt and unfair his country has become. A new sense of duty to share what is going on around us was born.

NILOO |
Niloo received her Bachelor degree in Broadcast Journalism from San Diego State University but decided not to pursue main stream journalism for two reasons; she was taught that “if it bleeds, it leads”, and that she needed to “dumb down” her writing to an 8th grade level.
So, Niloo decided to take her passion and activism in another direction. She currently spends her days as an actor, a professional vocalist in the touring international cover band KASHA, an animal rights advocate and a vegan chef. You may see her showing off her singing and culinary skills at a soon-to-be opened restaurant called Jazz&Vegan in Torrance, CA.
Niloo is also working on her first creative nonfiction novel, as well as The Exchange Radio program.

The premiere show! Thanks for tuning in to The Exchange folks! Tarik & Niloo were fortunate enough to talk with the very eloquent Activist/Speaker/Author Lawrence Ziese, and the heart-wrenchingly talented Singer/Songwriter Marco Aiello. We spoke with Lawrence Ziese about the Occupy Wall Street movement and his involvement as an activist and a speaker. We find out just how Lawrence got himself arrested and spent time in jail for peacefully participating in demonstrations here in LA. We talk about humanity, passion and our desire to get to the truth. Then Marco Aiello eased us into the end of our show with three beautiful tunes from his upcoming LP, August Light, his first solo project two years in the making, He performed the third track Baby Don’t Run, LIVE and unplugged, right here in the studio! You have to listen to this. Like we said on the show, it’s Soul Crack! Marco Aiello’s music will cradle you in its arms and light a flame of warmth in your heart! His lyrics are deep and haunting, light and hopeful, beautiful and raw all at the same time. You heard him here first people! THANKS FOR LISTENING! |
