Jack Marino Warrior Filmmaker

Jack Marino

Jack Marino is originally from Everett Massachusetts.

This typical working class city at that time was made up of mostly Sicilians, Irish Roman Catholic Democrats, who by the way - were all conservatives. He and all his friends were the children of World War II veterans; it is from this world that shapes his political, religious and patriotic ideals

As a young boy his Father took him to see all those great films of the mid 50s and 60s. It was in those darkened temples that he dreamed of being in the picture business. His inspiration for being an actor was reading "The Films of Errol Flynn" and "My Wicked, Wicked Ways". Other great actors he would read and follow their films, John Barrymore, James Cagney, Bogey, Ronald Coleman, Orson Wells, Richard Burton, Charlton Heston, the Duke and Robert Mitchum, the list is endless. Warner Bros of the 30s & 40s was the favorite of all the studios with contract directors like Michael Curtiz, Raoul Walsh and Vincent Sherman, a dear friend and mentor.

A student of the Boston Catholic school system his early life, he eventually went to Northeastern University in Boston and graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice. This was his first massive exposure to the 60s radical malcontent mindset. It was at Northeastern that he started doing theater in the round. His first Shakespearean role was Ross in Macbeth. After two years of fencing and acting in plays he wanted to get into Repertory Theater. Once he was out of Northeastern, his former teacher/director cast him as Cyrano de Bergerac in that ambitious play she was directing. Four weeks into rehearsal the play was shut down for lack of funds. Sounds familiar? This would be a way of life in the world of independent filmmaking once he got to Hollywood.

After the play shut down he got into his 1971 Dodge Charger and headed for Hollywood for six months. While out here he met a lot of film stars, old prize fighters who knew everyone from the old days of Hollywood. His plan was to get a feel for the place. He worked in a couple of films and then returned home to marry his high school sweetheart. Back in Everett, they both worked for another two years. By mid '80 they were back living in Los Angeles.

During the next four years he formed two production companies, had a couple of scripts and was taking them around to all the studios. In '83 he raised private funds to produce his first independent film "KILLZONE". It was one of the biggest hits of the 1985AFM and it changed the entire film market to low budget action films. In Jan. of '86 he was asked by his DP on KILLZONE to put together the film, "Hell’s Outlaw" and borrowing a friend’s credit card he made the film. By the fall of '86 he began putting together the film project called "FORGOTTEN HEROES". Little would he know that this film would end up becoming his Calypso in this twenty-year odyssey.

Jack has been married now for thirty-one years to a green-eyed Irish girl he met in 1969. Their daughter, now married, recently gave birth to "Identical twin girls". Their son is in the Army and recently finished his tour of duty with the 25th INF DIV in a Striker Brigade in Baghdad, Iraq and is now with the Army Reserves here in Los Angeles.

By the way, he still has that '71 Dodge Charger, still has that same girl, and when the world was young, they went everywhere in that car. He would tell her of his dreams, making films in Hollywood, living up on Mulholland Farm, having fat kids and watching their vineyards grow! Now that their kids are out on their own, he is with his girl again, only he can remember when.

Show # 247 Laurene Landon, tall, leggy and extremely well-built statuesque blonde actress has enlivened a bunch of hugely enjoyable movies with her spunky energy, physical dexterity, bubbly, upbeat personality and considerable sex appeal. She often portrays tough, two-fisted, no-nonsense action heroines with a winning blend of fiery aplomb and cheerful good humor. Born as Laurene Landon Coughlin on March 17, 1957 in Toronto, Canada, Landon's family moved to the United States when she was four.
The 5'9" Landon began her acting career in the late 70's as an extra. Laurene made a smashing impression as "Molly", one of two female wrestlers, who are managed by 'Peter Falk', in Robert Aldrich's uproariously raucous comedy, ...All the Marbles (1981); the fiercely athletic and aggressive Landon also performed a lion's share of her own stunts in the film. Landon was very funny as a daffy stewardess in Airplane II: The Sequel (1982) and was excellent as Mike Hammer's loyal secretary "Velda" in I, the Jury (1982).
Laurene was especially strong and impressive in two delightful action/adventure features for director Matt Cimber: she's the titular rugged warrior woman in Hundra (1983) and a gutsy half-Native American spitfire in Yellow Hair and the Fortress of Gold (1984). Landon was once again, on the money, effective and engaging as courageous policewoman "Teresa Mallory" in the terrific Maniac Cop (1988) and its superior 1990 sequel, Maniac Cop 2 (1990). After a regrettably lengthy absence from acting,  Laurene Landon writes scripts in her spare time and is an award-winning gold medal lyricist, who authored rap music for an L.A. Metro Transit Authority video.

Show #245 Frank Massa with little to go on beyond a fistful of good ideas and unshakeable determination, Montreal Frank Massa set out in 2005 to make his mark in motion pictures. The spring of 2014 sees the release of 24 Hour Rental, the Superchannel television series Massa created, drawing on his extensive grasp of lowbrow cinema and his own experiences in the video rental business. With his new project Socially Not Disturbed ® (SND) — a series planned from the ground up specifically for the smartphone  platform — Massa is poised to prove that lightning can strike twice, and hit harder the second time around.

A lifelong Montrealer deeply rooted in the local Italian-Canadian community, Massa got his first taste of entertaining others in the 1980s, stomping the stage with his heavy metal band. The rock 'n' roll life rarely lasts too long, and Massa eventually hung up his guitar and went into sales — but never let go of his love for entertaining. Drawing on his experiences in that field, and behind the counter at a busy independent video-rental store, in 2005 Massa dreamed up a screenplay for the movie he'd always wanted to see — Cornices, a black comedy/crime thriller about a band of lowlifes looking for the fast track to the high life. The project's path was a slow and roundabout one, shifting from feature film to web series. Rechristened 24 Hour Rental, the package was optioned in 2009 and in four years became a TV series for the Superchannel network, debuting this spring.

Show #219 Dennis Mullen is a line-editor and ghostwriter. He resides in British Columbia Canada. His specialty is helping both published and aspiring writers finesse and finish their novels, short-story collections and autobiographies. His two specialties in this field focus upon improving imagery and synonymy. He is also developing an adventure-suspense novel of his own; a historical fiction work which underscores many of the little known intrigues of a post-revolution Cuba. The time-line is 1960.

A life-long Canadian, he nonetheless considers Havana Cuba not unlike a second home, and during the winter months for 2-3 weeks at a time he has been introducing '1st-time visitors' to the mysteries of the famous city since 1999. The winter escapes he offers to "The Paris of the Caribbean" are uniquely themed and sometimes, even adventure laden. The trips encompass the figurative objective of 'searching for' none other than one of the most fascinating adventuring personalities of the 20th century--Errol Flynn!

In 2012 Dennis traveled to Port Antonio Jamaica to lend his assistance in developing branding and marketing initiatives geared to re-introduce and showcase this sleepy port's mythic Errol Flynn Marina. His well-honed Havana Escapes involve, among other things, seeking out and hanging out in Flynn's old haunts. They are still there to be found for those in the know and, remarkably, all within a few blocks of one another. There are also all the street locations Flynn frequented during the shooting of The Big Boodle in 1958 and many of these film-set sites are also visited.

Along the way, the escape vacation in Havana makes attempts at delving into Flynn's psyche and putting into play one or two of the signature elements which made his personal life so amazing.

And then of course there is the Hemingway house, now a museum, just on the outskirts of Havana. In fact, Dennis can not only show you the house of one of the world's most celebrated writers, but he can also take you to the exact location in a famous bar on Obispo Street in Old Havana where both Flynn and Hemingway sat in late 1958 discussing, among other things, what was going to happen if Castro and his rebel fighters took the city....

His other website is In ZACA TEA and he can be contacted atlastdeskghostwriting@gmail.com

The film's intriguing premise "A newly-engaged man meets a beautiful woman who he finds he can connect with in dreams."

The idea for the film came to writer Skyler Caleb in, you guessed it, a dream!

The film's central themes have to do with finding what you truly want in life, and trusting your gut when something doesn't quite fit.

WAKING is often referred to as a romantic comedy that men will like just as much as women, due to its focus on a male lead.

Show #214 My Guest is Gloria Tait who came to Hollywood in 1977 after I had already had a successful life of business and theatre in Seattle Washington. I had a dream and that was to come to Hollywood. I started out with a few films as an actress and then on to becoming an agent which I did in LA and NY 7 years all the while managing a rock and roll band or two and constantly working with actors. I have a passion for the business and it has taken me many places I would not have otherwise been privileged to visit.

I have worked with many famous people and new talent as well. I built my company from the ground up and put every penny into it that I could get my hands on. In 1984 I created and formed Athena Talent Management and I am proud to say she still stands stronger and shines brighter than ever. I truly loved all my work with the actors that I was so fortunate to meet along the way. I have sold scripts in the middle of the Writer's Strike to another country, I have raised 1.2M for a film in El Salvador and I have worked with 27 other countries. I have produced theatre and now I am producing TV & Film. I have always wanted to work Internationally and in 1994 created Athena International with offices in LA, NY and London. I became World Traveled and now work with many talented artists globally. I now have two truly great men as partners and we raise money for our projects and currently have 5 in development and one in pre production. Two years ago I created a TV series titled "LIVING THE COWBOY WAY" and we are now ready to shoot the pilot.

I still manage a handful of actors that we are prepping for the "Big Time". Surviving Hollywood is what I have done. I went to the Hollywood school of hard knocks and never gave up. This is the key, never give up! You are what you do. Being a woman, a republican and a single mother in Hollywood was a challenge but I come from good stock and we have a work ethic that doesn't really exist in the young people today. All things are possible and I am living proof of that!

"What Will Mary Say", a Top 10 hit for the singer Johnny Mathis in 1963, was written by Vance with Eddie Snyder. Vance got the idea for "Itsy Bitsy Bikini" because his daughter was too shy to wear a bikini in public. The song was a Top 10 hit in other countries around the world.

In 1964, Vance and Lee Pockriss wrote a song entitled "Leader Of The Laundromat," a spoof of the then-popular "Leader of the Pack" by The Shangri-Las, and Vance produced a recording of the track by a trio consisting of Ron Dante, Tommy Wynn, and Vance's nephew Danny Jordan. The record was released under the name The Detergents, and its success led to an album called The Many Faces Of The Detergents, which Vance produced and for which he, along with Pockriss, penned all the songs. The release of "Leader of the Laundromat" earned a lawsuit against the group by "Leader Of The Pack" composers Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich, and George "Shadow" Morton. Show #202 Nick Mancuso a dark and handsome Nick was born in Italy and raised in Canada (from age 8). Although he developed an interest in acting in high school, he chose to study psychology at the University of Toronto. The acting bug bit again, however, and he was soon drawn to various Canadian theatre groups in the 1970s.

During this time, he became artistic director for the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre, at the same time building up his classical resume at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. TV and film soon came his way in the late 1970s, and he tackled roles both in Hollywood, first as TV's Dr. Scorpion (1978), and back in his homeland, where he won the prestigious Genie award for the movie Ticket to Heaven (1981) as a man caught up in a religious cult.

He impressed moviegoers as well with his moody, sexy presence in the US film Heartbreakers (1984) co-starring Peter Coyote. Not a big name in Hollywood, he has nevertheless proven over the years to be a solid, durable player in the "tough guy" mold, almost always with a serious edge.

Show #201 David Stein brought right-wing congressmen, celebrities, writers and entertainment industry figures together for shindigs, closed to outsiders" (The Guardian). David Stein was a member of the Hollywood conservative organization Friends of Abe. His own group, the Republican Party Animals, held parties across Southern California that represented a new vision of what GOP events could be: youth oriented, with lots of live music, booze, female dancers and acrobats, and a fearless in-your-face attitude toward the left's stereotype of Republicans as stodgy and humorless. Stein was also a blogger whose work appeared everywhere from FrontPageMag and Commentary to the Washington Times and the Larry Elder Show.

In 2013, it was revealed that in the late '80s and early '90s, Stein had gone by the name David Cole, and he had conducted several years of research at the Auschwitz State Museum in Poland. Cole's findings indicated that the museum was still saturated with Soviet propaganda, and Cole spoke of those findings on shows such as 60 Minutes, the Phil Donahue Show, and 48 Hours. Cole's work was deemed controversial, and death threats prompted him to hide his identity in 1995. From that point on, he became David Stein. After the revelations of his past became public, Stein was banned by Friends of Abe, and by various L.A. and California Republican organizations. Still, he remains a staunch conservative, and he stands by the historical work he did twenty-five years ago. His autobiography, "Republican Party Animal," is available through Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and Walmart.

Show #198 Cindy Mitchum Azbill he is the daughter of actor/poet John Mitchum and the nice of actor Robert Mitchum, Cindy was raise in and around all the Hollywood greats. She comes on the show to talk about her Dad and uncle Bob. I hope to have more of her on the show because I know I can't get enough of those ornery Mitchum boys'

John Newman Mitchum was the September child of a Norwegian mother and an Irish/Blackfoot father whom he never knew, as he was killed in a tragic train yard accident in 1919. His two-years-older brother Robert filled the role as best as he could, while their older sister Annette studied the lively arts and eventually joined a traveling vaudeville team.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the young family moved to Rising Sun, Delaware, where farm life didn't agree with the young boys. Scarce opportunities took them to New York City, where the streets of Hell's Kitchen taught the brothers to fight, a skill they developed so well they earned the moniker 'them ornery Mitchum boys'.

Eventually, when the Great Depression deepened, the family was forced to separate with the intention of meeting up with sister Annette, who had married a sailor and moved to California, changing her name to Julie. The teenage boys set out with little more than clean handkerchiefs to find their way across the country by the only means they could: hitchhiking and riding the rails. Their somewhat aimless journey took them to places they had never been; where their Eastern accents were not welcome, so they quickly learned that accurately mimicking the local dialect would keep them out of trouble--some of the time!

While brother Robert fairly quickly discovered his place in Hollywood legend, John sought his destiny on the high seas, professionally boxing, or conducting a choir. When the opportunity for acting came along John found his perfect niche as a character actor, mostly playing heavies since he was an imposing figure of a man.

John's roles had him playing alongside a wide range of celebrities, from Humphrey Bogart in "Knock On Any Door" (1949) to Gladys Knight in "Pipe Dreams" (1976), Clint Eastwood of "Dirty Harry" (1971) to John Wayne in "Chisum" (1970), appearing in 58 films overall. It was during production of "Chisum" that John Wayne offered his voice for an anthology of John's poetry that seeks to uplift American culture, "America, Why I Love Her", a recording for which Mitchum was nominated for a Grammy in 1973.

John was a consummate storyteller (as was his brother Robert), and with his fascination with American history in particular he was ever-ready to regale anyone with a thoughtful, interesting, and insightful anecdote, especially if a guitar was available. It was the wedding of music and history that brought him to create the recording "Our Land, Our Heritage" with Dan Blocker; big "Hoss" from "Bonanza", in 1964

Mitchum had some recurring roles throughout his televison career; such as "Pickalong" from "Riverboat", or "Hoffenmueller" from "F-Troop", over 150 appearances in all during the span of a half-century career. The brothers Mitchum legacy has been well-preserved in his often hilarious autobiography, "Them Ornery Mitchum Boys", published in 1989. Show #193 Tim Reid, born & raised a Flynn Fan in an predominantly Irish seaside neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. (Only a very short distance from where Harry Eiler grew up, before he made it big and bought Flynn's place on Navy Island!)

Flynn was King in our neighborhood, who all the girls swooned over, and all the boys wanted to be. Dad & Mom were huge Flynn fans, too, and much like our neighborhood's Errol & Olivia - Dad being very highly intelligent and athletically gifted, Mom being extraordinarily gorgeous and fun.

Grew up watching Flynn on late night and weekend TV. Captain Blood, Charge of the Light Brigade, Robin Hood, Sea Hawk, Gentleman Jim, They Died With Their Boots On. What boy wouldn't want to be Flynn?! Fighting the good fight so valiantly AND winning the hearts of all the best looking girls, too! What boy wouldn't want to be anyone but Errol Flynn!?!

Years later, in the early Eighties, when I moved to San Diego, I became significantly reacquainted with Flynn. Heard stories from sailors & old timers who knew many of his incredible exploits and adventures in San Diego, Old Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada. That led me to read the still astonishing Wicked, Wicked Ways - like nothing I'd ever read before. Truly Flynntastic.

Inspired by all of that, I wrote "In Like Flynn", which I used last year as the musical track in a video tribute to the 75th Anniversary of Robin Hood.

"In Like Flynn" - 75th Anniversary of "The Advent...:youtu.be/dILYf6IOH5g

Working on the In Like Flynn video, I had the tremendous pleasure and good fortune to meet the great David DeWitt, founder of the Errol Flynn Blog. That has opened up a who new world for me, allowing me to learn from and communicate with preminent Flynn fans around the globe.

Based on these wonderful opportunites, and drawing on my experience as a commemorative historian, I am helping to plan and celebrate year-long, around-the-world tributes to Errol's two greatest pirate films - Captain Blood & The Sea Hawk, which, in 2015, will be in their 80th & 75th anniversary years.

Show #192 Peter Wolf, Filmmaker, Born in Birmingham, England during the WWII Air Raids, Peter " of Wechsberg came into the world as a fighter. He fought to survive, fought for enlightenment, and continues to fight for his dreams. His mother, Reneé Lawrence, a member of the Royal Ballet, Oxford University graduate with a Masters Degree in English and later a nurse, desired the best education and ample opportunities for her deaf son. Therefore, she and her husband, Max Wechsberg, decided to move to the USA. Max was an Auschwitz escapee, Army Chief Interrogator, successful businessman, Vice President of White Stag, and brother to the famous author Joseph Wechsberg who wrote "The Merchant Bankers" and "Murderers Among Us" with Simon Wiesenthal. Through real world experiences Max taught Peter how to face every obstacle with strength and character. Peter attended New York School for the Deaf, fondly referred to as "Fanwood", graduated from Gallaudet University, then attended USC, and an underground film school Cinema Lab where he received "The Most Outstanding Filmmaker" award. He traveled for two years with the National Theatre of the Deaf until he became disheartened with "deaf" theater catering only to the hearing audience's novel fascination to "flying hands." Instead, he set off on a course which continues today to create visually stimulating entertainment for the Deaf.

With help from Governor Ronald Reagan, Peter created a daily television news show, NewSign 4, for KRON in San Francisco. He was a field reporter and anchorman, bringing the news to everyone in sign language. While with KRON, he won an Emmy Award for his pioneering news show, and another for his documentary, "My Eyes Are My Ears." Peter began working in the mainstream film industry by shooting Documentaries, Industrial films, and even a top-secret CIA film where they blindfolded him during transport to and from the location! He shot Commercials for Rolls Royce, McDonald's, Sprint, Harley Davidson and many others.

Quitting his secure job in Portland, Oregon as a communication designer for US First National Bank, Peter shot the first feature film produced in sign language, "Deafula." Over the years he continued working on scores of projects, everything from commercials to features, enabling him to purchase 35mm cameras, a Steadicam, aerial image optical printer and post editing equipment. He has been an actor, producer, director, cinematographer, stunt cameraman, aerial cinematographer - hanging out of a Huey helicopter to get the shot, editor, negative conformer, visual effects producer.

Although the main body of his work is with hearing productions, his heart still belongs to the deaf world. Together with his two sons and wife, Margaret Sych, they are now in production of Peter's fifth deaf feature film, "King Peddler." Currently, his film "I Love You, But..." is playing nationwide in IMAX theaters which is mixed in MUSIC QUAKE - a special 5.1 surround sound mix with powerful low frequency tracks to let the audience FEEL both real life and cinematic vibrations (patent pending).

Their film studio, Peter Wolf Productions, in Camarillo, California incorporates high-end, cutting-edge technology. It has always been Peter's belief by owning the studio and equipment, budgets are kept at a minimum allowing for more dollars on the screen for audience enjoyment. In addition to his film career, Peter has also taught sign language since the age of 14, and professionally in Colleges and Universities for over 40 years. He is a devoted husband, father and grandfather of three boys, and is also an avid animal lover. Peter enjoys life to the fullest, is a perfectionist in every way, and is determined to conquer all challenges confronting him.

Show #190 The BEST of JACK MARINO SHOW #141 (Friday, October 25, 2013) Frank Cullotta Former Chicago Enforcer Former Las Vegas Mobster. Frank was born on December 14, 1938 in Chicago. He began his criminal career as a teenager. Graduating from petty theft to burglary, armed robbery, arson and of course, murder. While growing up he met another tough young kid like him on the mean streets. His name was Tony Spilotro. They became friends. Stealing and committing other crimes together. Tony went on to become a made man and feared enforcer of the Chicago Outfit. In 1971, while Frank was in prison, the Outfit bosses sent Tony to Las Vegas to keep an eye on their casino interests.

After Frank got out on parole Tony invited him to join him in Sin City. Frank Cullotta functioned as Tony's lieutenant, watched his back and formed and ran a crew of burglars, robbers, arsonists, and killers that became known as the Hole in the Wall Gang. Frank Cullotta entered the federal witness protection program in early 1982 and admitted to the FBI that he had arranged the murders of James Miraglia and Billy McCarthy, known as the "M&M Murders", on behalf of Tony Spilotro. Frank Cullotta also admitted to the 1979 murder of Sherwin Lisner, and provided them with information regarding other burglaries.

In 1995 Frank was contacted by screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi regarding the Martin Scorsese film Casino. Frank was hired as one of several technical consultants to the movie in which actor Joe Pesci played a character based on Tony Spilotro; and Frank Vincent played "Frankie," a character based on Frank Cullotta. In the film Frank appeared in several scenes as a killer, including one that was a fictionalized version of a murder he actually committed in Las Vegas in 1979. Pileggi said it was the first time he knew of where a real-life killer recreated a murder on the screen.

Show #189 The BEST of JACK MARINO SHOW 158 (February 23, 2014) - Steve Hayes, writer, actor, producer. Steve first came to Hollywood in 1949, stayed a brief time, then went back to Canada and returned in 1950 to stay. Errol Flynn had promised to sponsor him but didn't (typically) so it took him a little while to find one. He then began acting and got my first part at 20th century Fox (where he was later was put under contract) in the movie: Bells on Their Toes.

Steve will talk about about Ava Gardner and his relationship with her, whom he met at Errol Flynn's house with her ex-husband, Mcikey Rooney. He is pretty sure that was the first time he met her--though he did know Lana Turner, whom he knew well, also introduced me to Ava--but he says, that was when Ava said we'd already met at Flynn's. He will talk about various other movie stars who were in some way attached to her or that he met through her, etc. Lana Turner, Sinatra, Robert Taylor, names like that.

Steve has often told me he never quite gotten fully over Ava, which is understandable. Sinatra never did either. But she was hard to love. She swore like few women he ever known--especially in an era when normal girls barely said shit. Steve not only knew Lana Turner but worked on a film called Diana or Dian (I'l look it up) that co-starred a young Roger Moore. He met Rita Hayworth when I painted her house with my pal and house-painter, Dick Morris. Later, he saw her again and they briefly talked Hollywood, including about her being neighbors of Glenn Ford

At Errol Flynn's he became friends with Ann Sheridan, the Ooomph Girl, who was one of Flynn's buddies and romantic interests years prior. Steve actually punched out actor Bruce Cabot at a party at Flynn's. Ida Lupino was a close pal of Errol's--I think they cared for one another--and years later, she became a director (Thriller or Chiller) of a weekly TV show. Bob Middleton, Steve;s mentor, starred in one show and Steve went to several days of shooting and talked at great lengths with Ida.

Steve's birth name was Ivan Hayes, which he soon changed to Steve Hayes because Ivan is Russian for John Fox insisted he change his name to something more American. he stole the name of Steve from his buddy, Mr. America Steve Reeves, who starred in European films like Hercules.

Show #184 Mark Reed Republican candidate for the 30th Congressional District here in California. MARK REED ASKED Is Congress and the Federal Government doing a good job? Would you retain an employee if you only approved of his performance 10% of the time?

On November 4th you have the power to change that by choosing new representation. I'm humbly asking for your vote. I have a strong belief that real representation will put country before party and people before politics. I am running for Congress in California's 30th District to bring our voice to Washington D.C. and express our concerns and needs.

Because of partisan politics, our country is mired in multiple scandals, including the VA, the IRS and Benghazi. We are over 17 trillion dollars in debt, welfare spending has been increased by 60% and 43 million people are now collecting food stamps. Over nine million jobs have vanished, millions have given up looking for work, and the unemployment rate remains stubbornly high. Economic growth is stuck in the 2%-3% range. In the first quarter of 2014 the GDP plummeted 2.5%.

World respect for the United States is at an all-time low. Our Mid-East policy is in complete disarray, and for the first time since 1947, Israel's existence is truly in danger. Radical Islam, Russia, Iran and China are on the march. Iraq has disintegrated since we withdrew our troops, and there is the danger of an Islamic Caliphate forming in the heart of the Middle East, stretching from Syria to Afghanistan. The recent Affordable Health Care Act rollout has been an ongoing disaster with millions losing their healthcare insurance, their family doctor, and their local hospital.

Please join my campaign by making a donation or volunteering some of your talents and time. Please send me an email or join me at one of my events. Together we can restore America for our grandchildren and preserve the freedoms promised to us by our Founding Fathers.

I am humbly asking for your vote on November 4th. God bless you and God Bless America. Mark Reed

For only spending such a short time in Hollywood, Robert has come very far. As a respected voice talent who works directly for NBC, Robert has been the lead voice actor for video games, television & radio commercials, animated television shows, and has also created a small ring tone empire. As an actor, Robert has co-starred on TV shows like "No Ordinary Family" and "Matchmakers", as well as movies like "Little Blue Pill" and "The Details." It was in his lead role as the misguided super hero on the TV series "Rat-Man" however, that helped earn him his 2nd nomination from the LA Comedy Awards in 2011.

Robert began Producing almost instinctively after his first year in Hollywood. Whenever a project came up that he was working on needed help with casting, location acquisition, or voice and video editing, Robert always stepped up to the plate. Once he started to navigate the strange realm that is IMDB by helping himself and many others to add credits, bios, trivia, and a myriad of other things that most people wouldn't even think of for their career pages, his fate was sealed... he was an Actor / Producer. High point for 2013: Robert was a Producer for the TV Pilot "Whoa!" with Linda Blair, Leslie Jordan, Dawnn Lewis, Taryn Southern, and Mark Gannt.

Also a part time comedian, Robert became a successful one in March 2012 when he won the LA Comedy Awards for "Most Hilarious Voice Over" presented by Jaime Masada at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood. Sadly, Robert no longer tours. Robert brings his love and passion for the entertainment industry, his incredible wit & gift for comedy, his vast technology experience, and limitless potential as a talent to G5. He is one of the 3 founding members of G5 Entertainment Group.

Show #172 My guest will be two congressional republican candidates Christopher Mitchum in the 24th District & Mark Reed in the 30th District who are both conservative constitutionalist. Kicking off his second run for Congress, Chris Mitchum isn't pulling any punches. " n the past 16 years, we've seen our national debt double," the veteran actor and political agitator told the News-Press. While he is only one of the eight candidates challenging incumbent Mrs. Capps, D-Santa Barbara, for the 24th Congressional District seat, Mr. Mitchum has made it clear that Mrs. Capps is his target.

Mark Reed is running as a Republican for Congress in the Statewide Direct Primary Election on June 3rd, 2014 in California's 30th District. In 2008 the American people voted for change. After five years in office, Barack Obama has increased the debt to over 17 trillion dollars, increased welfare spending by 60% and 43 million people are now collecting food stamps. Over nine million jobs have vanished, millions have given up looking for work and the unemployment rate remains stubbornly high. Economic growth is stuck in the 2%-3% range. World respect for the United States is at an all-time low. Our Mid-East policy is in complete disarray and for the first time since 1947 Israel's existence is truly in danger. Radical Islam, Russia, Iran and China are on the march. And the recent ObamaCare rollout has been an ongoing disaster with millions losing their healthcare insurance.

Together we can restore America for our Grandchildren and preserve the freedoms promised to us by our Founding Fathers. I am humbly asking for your support and vote.

God bless you and God Bless America

Both Christopher Mitchum & Mark Reed both WON the Republican nomination for the general election in Nov

Show #171 Homer Hickam has written nineteen books including the acclaimed #1 New York Times memoir Rocket Boys which was made into the film October Sky. Rocket Boys is studied in hundreds of schools and is popular around the world. It is also being developed as a Broadway musical with Mr. Hickam as co-writer. When asked what it takes to write a successful memoir, Mr. Hickam replies, "It helps to have an interesting life."

Mr. Hickam was raised in Coalwood, West Virginia, the second son of the mine superintendent, Homer Hickam, Sr., and his wife Elsie. His father loved Coalwood and its mine, his mother hated both. "Sonny," as he was known then, was caught in the middle. Then he began to build rockets and live the story he would so famously tell.

After graduating from Virginia Tech, Mr. Hickam served in the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. Afterwards, he was an engineer for the Army Missile Command in Huntsville. He also became a scuba instructor and was awarded Alabama's highest award for heroism for his underwater rescue work. With NASA in Huntsville, he trained astronauts and designed spacecraft. He wrote about that in a memoir titled Paco: The Cat Who Meowed in Space. He is also an amateur paleontologist who discovered two Tyrannosaurus rexes. He wrote about that, fictionally, in a novel titled The Dinosaur Hunter.

Mr. Hickam's first book was Torpedo Junction, the true story of the battle against the U-boats along America's coasts during World War II. Then came Rocket Boys , a National Book Critics Circle Award nominee among many other honors. Other books followed including the memoir sequels The Coalwood Way and Sky of Stone plus his popular Josh Thurlow novels—The Keeper's Son, The Ambassador's Son, and The Far Reaches— and his latest, the Helium-3 series titled Crater, Crescent, and, most recently, Crater Trueblood and the Lunar Rescue Company. More than anything, Mr. Hickam says he loves to write and hopes that is how he will be remembered—a writer who knew how to tell a good story.

Show #164 Mark Reed congressional Candidate for the 30th district of California. Mark is the only true Reagan conservative constitutionalist running in his district. Mark Reed is the 2014 Republican candidate challenging incumbent Congressman Brad Sherman in the 30th Congressional District of California. Mark ran against Congressman Brad Sherman in 27th District in 2010. Mark had the second smallest margin in the State of Calif. challenging an incumbent Democrat. Mark is now endorsed by over a hundred national, state and local elected officials and leaders. The list includes leaders like Michael Reagan, Amb. John Bolton and Michael Antonovich.

He was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles, California. Born August 11, 1957, Mark is a descendant of the Mohawk and Apache tribes, mixed with German, English, Spanish and French. After graduation from El Camino Real High School in 1975, Reed studied Architectural Drafting at Pierce Jr. College from 1976-1978. Reed, age 57, is a successful actor, small businessman, rancher and an advocate for constitutional government as specified by our Founding Fathers. After working in management positions for several years, he bought his first company at age 26 and opened a small retail store. He sold both and bought out his second company at age 32.

He has sat on the board of directors of several companies, chaired many national committees and currently sits on the board of directors of the CAB at KCET. He is the National Representative for American Indians, dealing with the national issues concerning Indians in Media and diversity contracts with the networks and studios. Reed is an avid rancher, horseman, outdoorsman, community advocate and animal lover. A dedicated family man, Reed married Nina, his childhood sweetheart, August 19, 1978. They have three adult children: Son Mark, Jr. 32, Daughters Tania 31 and Jessica 29. They also have 7 beautiful grandchildren: Angelica 10, Ashlynn 3, Cloe 8 and Kalei 7, Michael and Riley twins, eleven months, Autumn, 6months. Mark and Nina have their 8th and 9th grandchildren on their way and they are here born Nov.14th 2013

WHY I AM RUNNING - I have twelve important reasons for caring what happens in Congress – my three children and my nine grandchildren. My wife, Nina, and I have taught them to work before they play, to save before they spend. They're resourceful, thrifty, and self-reliant. But it almost doesn't matter. Because every time Congress bails out another bank, automaker, insurer, or mortgage lender, they pile debt on my children and grandchildren. If you take the national debt as it now stands, and divide it equally among every man, woman, and child in the country, we each owe $37,000. That number will more than double over the next ten years. That has real-life consequences. When my ten-year-old granddaughter graduates from college, her share of the national debt is likely to be as high as $100,000.

John Adams said, "There are two ways to enslave a nation. One is by arms. The other is by debt." I want to keep my children free. I'm running for Congress to restore fiscal discipline. I will work to cut spending, cap the budget at 18% of the GDP and pass a balance budget amendment. We need to grow the economy and pay off our debt!

Show #158 Steve Hayes, writer, actor, producer.
