A professor with sass to spare, Brenda has been a Computer Applications faculty member at Santa Monica College since 1999. Prior to that, she worked in health care IT consulting at KPMG, LLP. She was one of the first SMC faculty members to teach online classes and has continued to be involved with the Distance Education curriculum.
Presently, she is more involved with the Environmental Affairs Committee at SMC, focusing on 2009-10 the Year of Water, http://www.smcglobal.org. As a single parent, her two girls, Claire, 7, and Simone, 3, keep her hopping outside of the classroom. To leave them a better planet, Brenda focuses her time on all things sustainable and making the world more livable. Social media offers a forum to stay current on computer applications, sustainability, current events et al via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other forums of social networking.
