Cathy Is In

CATHY DEBUONO

Cathy DeBuono

When you take an award winning comedic actress and combine the inherent gifts of an empath with a master's degree in clinical psychology, a license in marriage and family therapy, and a decade of experience working with an wide spectrum of people - you get Cathy DeBuono.

In 2008 Cathy combined her education, skills and interests to create "What's Your Problem?" (WYP), an online, weekly released video blog that focused on delivering sound guidance to viewers who had written to Cathy for advice.

WYP was nominated in LOGO’s 2008 New. Now. Next. awards, honored in CURVE magazine as one of the top 3 best series on the web 2 years running and has been acknowledged by almost every lesbian entertainment media outlet... world-wide.

Cathy’s charismatic presence, sense of humor and quick wit came together with her education, training and inherent nature as a healer to manifest what turned out to be a globally popular endeavor.

On September 13, 2011, "Cathy Is In: The Cathy DeBuono Show" was launched. LA Talk Radio would report their first monthly download number as 3,399. That number would only consistently rise and just about a year later was reported at over 52,000 for the month of October 2012 alone.

With the addition of Comedian, Jennie McNulty co-hosting and a slew of fun new segments, guests and surprises happening all the time, "Cathy Is In: The Cathy DeBuono Show" delivers two hours of truly clever and entertaining talk that never fails to open your mind, every single week.

What is an Empath?

The use of the word empath in this context indicates a hybrid form of psychic; a grounded version of our innate human potential for extra sensory perception. Rather than reading the future or viewing remote objects, the empath specializes in reading the energy of people, animals and living things on a multidimensional scale.

Like any attuned human being, an empath will be receptive to the messages of observable information such as body language/movements, tone of voice, etc. However, there is further, more detailed information embedded in the fabric of the energy fields of, and effected by, other living beings. A skilled empath can adopt a feeling state that often results in "understood information" somatically, emotionally and cognitively. The more sensitive the empath, the more information received and the more skilled the empath, the more information deciphered.

Guest: Actress, Meredith Baxter and Choir Conductor, Mollie Birney, (her daughter).

Among topics discussed:  On a day planned earlier this year during Mollie's first visit to the show plans were made for she and her mother (Meredith Baxter), to return to "Cathy Is In" and sing together on the show.   A happy accident is all one can call it, when an electric keyboard fails and Mollie & Meredith fearlessly proceed to harmonize and share their songs... acapela.

Amongst an entire show of honest and intimate discussion about such things as self esteem, eating disorders, domestic violence and learning what love is - are random and sometimes spontaneous displays of a mother and daughter who clearly have always found their way back to one another - through song.

Meredith shares some news with us that she has yet to share in any other public venue. :)
