Rick Avery is a stuntman, stunt coordinator, actor and director with nearly 500 feature film and television credits, including “Get Smart”, “Poseidon”, “Titanic”, “The Prestige”, “Star Trek Insurrection”, “The Abyss”, “The Crow”, and “Charlie Wilson’s War.” He has won the Screen Actors Guild Cast Award for “Traffic”, the Best Stunt Ensemble Award in a Motion Picture for “Batman Dark Knight” and the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Vehicular Work in “Batman Dark Knight.”
Rick has directed two movies and a documentary: “The Expert” and “Deadly Takeover,” both of which were HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax Premieres, and “Raiders Remembered”. His Second Unit Director credits include: “Tenacious D”, “Scream 3”, “Anchorman”, “Identity”, and “The Sweetest Thing.
Rick’s acting credits include the soon-to-be released film, “Edge of Darkness” with Mel Gibson, “Heat”, “Batman Begins”, just to name a few.
Rick is a helicopter instructor at Group 3 Aviation and flies full time for National Helicopters piloting A-Stars and Jet Ranger helicopters. He has flown helicopters for “The Closer”, “Bloodshot”, “Hells Kitchen”, “Jesse James is a Dead Man”, and airplanes for “24”.
He is a college graduate, commercial multi-engine airplane pilot, commercial helicopter pilot and instructor, 5th degree black belt champion, certified scuba diver, U.S. Army Veteran, and former Santa Barbara Metro Police Officer.

Brian Avery has been a professional stunt coordinator and stuntman for the past 17 years with hundreds of credits to included “Transformers”, “Angels and Demons”, “Valkyrie”, “Semi-Pro”, “There Will Be Blood”, “Dukes of Hazard”, and “24” to only name a few.
Brian is second generation to the stunt community, following in his father’s footsteps, and has coordinated movies “Anchorman”, and “Tenacious D” while dad directs second unit. He has shown an interest in operating camera and is the director of photography for two production companies, Controlled Chaos and Check 6 productions. Brian has a lovely wife Lisa and a 6 month old daughter Mia.

Mike Avery is 24 years old. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley and has been a stuntman since the age of 3, working all of his life in the film industry.
Mike currently has over 100 film, T.V., and commercial credits, to include, “Titanic”, “Valkyrie”, “Jumper”, “The Prestige”, “Star Trek Insurrection”, and “The Crow” to name a few. His hobbies include anything with a motor and some rubber under it. He is the proud father of a beautiful daughter, Bailey, 5.

Today we had Academy Award winner and World class Rock Climber Scott Cosgrove climb into the studio.
He has made 28 ascents of El Capitan. Received Two Presidential Commendations for Rescue service
in Yosemite Valley and was the first American to establish a 5.14 rock climb.
Out of five confirmed 5.14 climbs, Scott is the author of three of them.
He teaches rock climbing to Navy Seals, Air Force PJ's, Delta Force, FBI, and DEA. |

Today we had World Record kayaker Tyler Bradt as our guest. Tyler holds the World Record for the largest waterfall descent at 189 1/2 feet at the Palouse waterfall. Flying in on a T-34 military trainer, aerobatic pilot Julie Clark was our guest. Julie was an airline pilot for 30 years and has been an aerobatic pilot for 34 years (of which she did both for 25 years). She talked about never having a gear up landing, flying for the airlines, flying the Chevron Global T-34 she owns in air shows all over the country, and her numerous awards she has earned over the last 3 decades including being a Living Legend. Also racing in today was Simona De Silvestro, Rookie of the Year at this year's Indy 500. 21-year-old Simona is an up and coming force to be reckoned with in the open wheel race community and talked with us about racing her first Indy 500. Terri, who is not your typical woman, has always gone against the grain in life, from making her high school football team as a safety and wide receiver to her love of motorcycles, including owning many motorcycles over the years. Lincoln discussed being a pilot instructor for LAPD, Officer of the year, and being personally asked by former Chief Bratton to stay on the department as a reserve after retiring (something that is never done). Racecar driver, race coach, and author of the 6-volume series "Speed Secrets", Ross Bentley, called in from Seattle and congratulated open wheel racing star Brett Smrz, who was in Georgia, on his nomination for the Team U.S.A scholarship. Brett will be representing the U.S. in England at the Formula Ford Festival in Brands Hatch and the Walter Hayes trophy at Silverstone. Ross is one of Brett's coaches, so it was an honor for us to be a part of Ross's congratulations to Brett. Ross gave some tips on becoming a better driver out on the track and discussed what it takes to be a great racecar driver. |
