"I threw the kickboard aside and resumed my swimming. I coughed up water because I was crying again. Good, I thought grimly. Maybe I will drown and then I won’t have to give her a kidney. Serves you right if you drown, you stupid fool, I told myself. You know you won’t give her a kidney."

Ruff about her inspiring book "The Reluctant Donor", in which she so honestly describes the ups and downs, fears, anxieties, good days and bad ones - all a part of being a living donor. A raw and honest conversation about our journey. You see, we are in the process of making our dream come true, but Good Life Academy , the beautiful center that we started a couple of months ago is, as all babies are, not easy to raise; it's demanding, and we don't always know exactly what to do to make it all better. In its attempts to get up on its feet and learn to walk, it sometimes falls. We think, as all moms do, that Good Life Academy is beautiful, and we believe in its bright future whole-heartedly, but, oh! when will it stop requiring so much work?!
So today you get to be a part of the ups and downs, the blood, sweat, and tears, and the hard work of making dreams come true. |
